God
We believe there is one all-powerful, all-knowing, all-present God who is LOVE. He exists in three persons, known as the Trinity – the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the Word of God, written down by people but inspired by the Holy Spirit. We believe it to be God’s letter of love to the world, without error, and the final authority on all issues, questions, and problems of our day (2 Timothy 3:15-17).
Salvation
We believe because of the original sin of Adam and Eve, every person is born with a sinful heart that separates them from a holy and perfect God. Because of God’s justice, the penalty for sin is eternal separation from God in a place called hell. But God, because He loves us, sent His only Son, Jesus – all God and all man, without sin – to die on a cross, thereby satisfying the wrath of God toward our sin. We believe that, on the third day, Jesus rose from the dead, proving He was God and conquering death once and for all. We also believe that anyone who acknowledges their sinfulness and their need for the saving grace that only Jesus can provide, is pardoned, forgiven of their original sin and the sin added by their own deeds, is indwelt with the Holy Spirit, and is a new creation, a child of God and heir of all his promises, including His promise of present grace and eternity in heaven (1 John 5:1-13).
The Church
We believe the Bible teaches that the Church is the body of believers in Christ from all nations, with Jesus as the Head. We believe the Church should gather weekly to worship through music, prayer, proclamation of the Word (Bible), and fellowship (loving one another). We believe the Church, through the Holy Spirit, equips us to serve those in need outside the Church, to right the injustices in the world, and to share the message of Jesus to those who do not yet know of His love – until He returns (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:42-47, Ephesians 4:14-16 and 1 Peter 2:4-10).
Life as a Jesus-Follower
We believe that every follower of Jesus puts to death the old life, its sinful practices, its self-dependence, its self-gratification and its self-preoccupation, in order to take up the new life, in which he/she is free to live by the Spirit, God-dependent, God-gratifying, and God-glorifying, in a way that blesses all. We believe this Spirit-filled life displays love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control (Colossians 3:1-17, Galatians 5:22).
